up the mountain

We just had a whirlwind of a visit with Norbert's brother, and his girlfriend, who came in from Finland.

They arrived on Friday and Norbert is just heading back now, from the airport.

Their visit was short, but super sweet and fun.

It had been a few years since we had last seen them!

We went all over, but I actually remembered to bring my camera when we took them to ski in Vail.

I captured a few photographs....

but really, I just spent most of that time laughing. 

And talking. 

A lot :)

And there were a few football games in there, too!

You know - I've mentioned my love of public art and sculpture.....

And then heading out: a reminder of summertime.

I'm trying really hard not to give you an exact date for our upcoming shop update because I always underestimate how long it takes (which totally leads to stress because I HATE being late).

BUT, I'm nearing the end. I will say that! 

You see, I just get super excited and over eager to get my new work out there :)

I'll of course let you know here and on Facebook first. 

So keep an eye on those two spots for when I finally get these new designs posted.

the goings on.....

A quick overnight trip (with my new party of six, because ever since my parents moved up, we have been traveling in a pack together :) began with a drizzly drive into the mountains on I-70 that led to Vail.

It's a sweet, Austrian-esque ski town....if you've never been there, it's worth a visit.

One of the things I love about Vail are the abundant amounts of art and sculpture that are erected on every corner....even the kinda crazy ones are cool to see.

And then we moved on to Salida.

The smell of fresh rain is the best smell on earth.

Besides fresh baked bread, that is.
And it was raining everywhere we went that weekend. Not constantly.
Just bits here and there. Enough to bring in some moisture and a constant barrage of fresh smells.
I LOVE it.

We played here, went to the farmer's market, found a few deals at some yard sales...

That boy of mine is the sweetest most huggable, loveable child. Ever.

Okay, make that two.

And they sure do love their Nana and Papa.

But, before heading home we landed at our main attraction....AND take a look at that line to get in!

When we finally rolled home we arrived, to that sky, and more drizzling.

We've been having some pretty fantastic weekends, lately.

I didn't even capture one photo of my Aunt and Uncle's visit from Sunday and Monday!

We laughed, when we parted ways last night, that our time spent together had been nothing short of decadent.
And it so was.

And by the way...

Time...

....it seems to not work with me :)

I'm sorry for the delay in getting my listings up.....and even more for my absence from this blog. I have been working on an order for a new store that will start carrying my work. The owners of Mary Jane's (where I currently have jewelry)  in Estes Park are opening a new store named J.Stevens and they requested more of my pieces to carry there as well. I am definitely pumped about it because they are such adorable boutiques and Estes Park is a big tourist town in the summer months. I unfortunately did not figure my time well, though, because we also had some friends come to stay with us during this time (it's been 3 years since we've seen them!) and it had been mayhem trying to finish the order and wanting to visit, all while our four boys paraded up, down and all around us :)

So here is some of my work.....finally!!

I love the brass cuff above. I used a similar design as my 'latitude' sterling cuff.

And I finally am carrying more of my burst rings again. They were incredibly popular when I had them in my Etsy shop last year. The cognac amber above is a new one though.

The necklace above was a design I came up with several months ago and I finally got around to making it!

I have many, many sheets full of designs that I have yet to get to.....this is a nice problem to have :)

This is my new duality ring....it has a squared shape that I am excited about. First of all, it is a more comfortable fit that round rings, plus I think it is more modern looking.....just a nice change to the usual, you know? :)

Branches and Twigs necklace!!

 I finally got around to this one as well....when I initially designed the earrings of the same name, I knew that I needed to make a pendant as well.

The new 'Lemon Burst' ring. I use a low dome ring band for this new round of 'Burst' rings.

Amber earrings.....

And a gorgeous piece of blue chalcedony.

This was a fun piece to come up with :)

So I'm going to go and list now. I'll list on Etsy first and then the website.

Woohoo...my parents are here :)
They will be here for a week. Thank goodness! They got here with vegetables from the garden and fresh baked banana/berry bread. Yum! So we packed away one loaf of the bread already with afternoon coffee. It's the little things that make me sooo happy :)

I listed one necklace this evening....I'll try to get a few more up tomorrow and Friday. This is one of my favorites:

I really think imperial jasper is my favorite. This changes everytime I buy another amazing cabochon though! My heart is pulled in multiple directions....but imperial jasper really is such a gorgeous stone.

This afternoon we spent some time matting my photographs. We had a bit of an assembly line going, which was nice because we talked, laughed and worked at the same time.

I took this picture in the springtime at our local park. That is a brand new bloom perched on the branch.
