Just Say Yes

So it looks like I have the flu....wonderful! lots of sarcasm here ;)

So you know what I'm going to do??? I popped a couple of dayquil and I'm going to listen to this song....maybe 50 times in a row, because this song makes the hairs on the back of my neck standup.
I. Love. It.

I'll hopefully see you really soon..............on the other side!

p.s. What in the world was I thinking by creating a 'happy list' without including music and creating??! The pain medicine is getting to me, I think ;)

Rambling...

My life is a bit chaotic right now. I am still trying to best figure out a good way of scheduling my business, motherhood, life in general! One thing that I am experiencing, that I know is nothing new to business owners, is the fact that I don't have a defined 'cut-off' time for work. I know full well that my success lies squarely on my shoulders...and that knowledge plus the mere fact that I love what I do makes it hard for me to create a work balance in my life. I feel like I could always do more.

To be honest its like this.....I have two young sons and we have to plan our schedules around them. This is not a complaint by any means, but it is a reality and so I try to get work in all over the place. This means many nights and weekends. My husband does not need much sleep and he is very much a workhorse. I, on the other hand, seem to need 9 hours of sleep to have his energy, which irritates the heck out of me because that amount of sleep is such a waste of time!

Okay, blah, blah, blah.....I know I'm rambling!! :) But, I'm lying here in bed with my laptop wishing I needed only 5 hours of sleep for superhuman energy (sans-caffeine!) so that I could put a good dent in my miles-long to-do list.

So these sublime photos from THE Ms. Martha Stewart that I found on her blog are just what I need at the moment. This one just stopped me in my tracks....

I adore these photographs.....they have a dream-like quality that calms and inspires me.

I'm off to sleep...

goodnight :)

Super tired...

I've worked really hard this week....I'm exhausted, but I had so much fun in the process. Today was a long day. I've been in my shop pretty much all day. I was hoping to get my new jewelry listed before we left tomorrow....but no such luck :(. It's after 11 p.m. and we're getting up early to go to the rock and gem show so I'm hitting the sack. I'll post it all on Saturday.

I wanted to mention really quick that I am going to sell some of my amber cabochons in my etsy shop.

And a quick reminder that I am having a sale in my shop starting tomorrow and ending on Sunday. All of my jewelry pieces are 15% off!

Goodnight ;)

Cleaning house...a.k.a. workshop

I am moving a bit slow again today. For some reason I just can't wake up even though it is now mid-morning. I even went for a run at 6 a.m., which almost always gives me an amazing boost for the day. Needless to say I had to make a nice, large cup of coffee this morning....waiting for it to kick in :)

I am in the middle of organizing and cleaning my workshop. I find calmness in the clean and orderly...it helps keep the creative juices flowing for me. I know this is a bit atypical for many artists, but I thrive on order.

I am excited to get to work on my designs today, though. I came up with some new ideas last night that really excite me...I can't wait to see how they turn out. I took a few more pics of some additional turquoise that I have. I ordered a pair of b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. Kingman turquoise stones that are begging to be set into earrings.

I ordered a bunch of Chinese turquoise before I left as well and below is an example of some of what I have. Love the colors!

As soon as I get my workshop squared away I will take some pictures and post them. I've been needing to do that for awhile.
Also, I thought I would mention that while catching up on one of my favorite blogs (bliss), I became enamored with some lovely clothes that she posted from the designer, James Perse. You can find the specific post here. I have increasingly become more fond of a simplistic design in clothing. I'll take one of each please ;)

Back to work....
