Saturday.

Started like this:

 and then progressed into this...

a bike ride along the Boulder Creek Path.

A break for coffee...

Approaching my favorite time of day...the golden hour that precedes that magical l'heure bleu.

And then we headed east.....towards home.

progress

Life is slowly returning to normal.
I'm putting a lot of time now into finishing my new work.
As you can see above, there will be lots of stones again....some from the Denver Gem show that we went to several weeks ago.

They are ready for bails and things....I'm working on it as we speak.

And I thought I'd show you my new venting system that Norbert and my Dad just put in.
I've been wanting one for a couple of years now!
Just makes things safer and cleaner.

Our studio is just about done now.
All it needs is a few more finishing touches.

p.s. I've decided to post images of my new designs here again before listing.
Soon, soon!

p.p.s. Do any of you metalsmiths out there actually use those tripods??
Mine is sitting against the wall there next to my air purifier and has become only a glorified shelf for my solder...totally useless  :)

a morning bike ride.

This is one of my favorite routes.
I ride it often.

I took these pictures at the end of the summer....not that long ago.

Is it just me or are you just as excited for the coming season?
Everything is changing colors here...yellows, reds and multiple hues of orange.
The air is fresh, the sun is out and my pumpkins and mums are warming themselves on my front porch.

The only thing I am beginning to mourn is our near-daily evening bike rides.
They have transitioned to a mid-day bike sprint in the sun....the dark is coming so early now.

Time to go downstairs and finish those multiple unfinished projects that have been calling my name.
The boys just left to the zoo so I am going to relish some much needed alone time in the studio today!

And how about a little cosmic love to start off this Wednesday??

<

Okay, who are we kidding?
I'll take this in one huge dose....time to blast it the studio.

And yep.
I'm going to shake it, too :)

the cave

Sheesh, time is flying by fast.
I tend to write in this blog in the evening because it is the only free time I really have.
I'll need to re-think the evening posting since this has been the case. I always get a little bummed when my blog starts to hear crickets. Time to change that.
The 'August Break' was great motivation for frequent posting...I should try and find another photography group to help get my butt in gear.

I have, however, been taking lots and lots of pictures.
My camera is with me constantly....

So, one of the big things that is happening this month, that I am delayed in sharing with you, is that we are having a special in our shops.
Every order over $100 gets a free pair of these:

The special applies in both our http://www.bluehourdesigns.com/ shop and the Etsy shop and lasts until October 31st!

Okay.
Well, the other piece of news is that I was going to have a shop update this past week.
Emphasis on was.

But, then this happened:

My little 3 year old monkey broke his arm on Tuesday :(
The fracture was misaligned, which required an overnight stay in the hospital for surgery the following morning.
I have been primarily his nurse ever since with little bits of work here and there, so that is my other excuse for being so quiet here. He is soaking up most of our attention right now.

The good news is that he is feeling better and better and hopefully by next week he'll be running around like almost normal.
Or so, the doctor says...!

Which means that the shop update will be next week instead.
And you'll find out here first!

Oh! And on a humorous side note:
We were working on puzzles with my injured monkey yesterday when I began humming and singing to the music playing. In his sad little voice he says, "Mommy, please don't sing....it's making my bone hurt"!
So I stopped.

last night...

I've had a bit of a tumultuous couple of weeks.
Highs and lows.
These kind of days, however, heal me very quickly....

It was a beautiful, beautiful evening...for everyone.
